I usually book one Destination Wedding once a year because I found it so much fun to work away from your local area. I have been to Jamaica, Greece, Thailand, and Belize to photograph Weddings. In addition to the International Destinations, I also travel in US. About 2 years ago, I photographed my friend’s Wedding at Anvil Ranch which is located deep in Napa county and I posted the pictures online. Since then I had been photographing Weddings at Anvil Ranch once a year and I hope this tradition continues. Anvil Ranch is a quiet ranch in Annapolis, CA which is about 6 hours away from my studio in the south bay. Even tho Google map says it takes 3.5 hour, I’ve never made it there under 6 hours. 🙂 Surrounded by beautiful mountainous hillside and it is a perfect location for an Intimate Wedding. Your guests can stay at the Ranch or the nearby hotel in Santa Rosa.
Last year. Spencer and Stevana found my pictures online and contacted me to photograph their Wedding at Anvil. It was one of the most beautiful, moving Weddings that I have photographed. Everyone cried, even the violinists, and I had tears of joy behind the camera. Their family and friends flew from different parts of US to attend this beautiful Wedding at secluded ranch. Their family and the Bridal Party stayed at the property but the guests stayed at hotel near Santa Rosa and transported by a bus to the ranch. The couple wanted a non traditional Wedding, so their officiant from Seattle did a great job showcasing the Married couple and including Stevana’s daughter into the ceremony. What a great job he did. He created many tear jerker moments with beautiful stories of how they met, their Courtship, and how much their daughter Evie loves Stephen which makes everyone very emotional.
For the reception, they flew 2 guitarists from Seattle to entertain during the cocktail hour and dinner time. and another duo from San Jose to perform after Dinner. Since the Wedding reception was taking place outdoor in the dark, I had to utilize 3 off camera flashes to light the dark outdoor location but at the same time keep the ambient light the way it was. It is challenging but it was a fun process as always. Hope you like the images of this intimate Ranch Wedding posted below.
